Dorothy L. "Dot" Campbell, formerly of Charleston, died April 14, 2010, in Hendersonville, NC.

A native of Chattanooga, TN, she was born on November 1, 1917, to the late Arthur W. Lawson, Sr. and Wenonah Haymore.

Mrs. Campbell lived in Charleston, SC, for 31 years where she was a member of First Scots Presbyterian Church before moving to Hendersonville in 1996. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and volunteered for many years with the American Red Cross. Mrs. Campbell was also a member of the American Contract Bridge League and was a Life Master Duplicate Bridge Player.

She is survived by a son, Spence Campbell, Jr. (Col. US Army Retired) and wife Marianne, of Hendersonville; a daughter, Judith C. Parent and husband Michael, of Hendersonville; two grandchildren, Kathryn M. Whitlow, of Belmont, Doug Campbell, of Greenville, SC; a brother, Arthur W. Lawson, Jr., of Chattanooga, TN and two nephews, Arthur W. Lawson, III, of Chattanooga, TN and Ronald Williams, of Berlin, MD.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Campbell was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Col. Spence Campbell, Sr., who retired in 1968 following his last assignment as Commander of the Charleston Army Depot.

Interment was in Arlington National Cemetery.
