Loretha "Lori" Helvey, 66, West Pleasant Street, Cynthiana, died Monday, Feb. 22, 2010, at her residence.

She was born in Pike County, May 14, 1943, to the late John and Della Stanley Murphy. She was a CNA at Grandhaven Nursing Home and a member of Shawhan Baptist Church.

Survivors include: her husband, Charles Helvey; two sons, Steve Helvey and Tim Helvey, both of Cynthiana; a daughter Felicia Helvey, Cynthiana; two brothers, Eugene Murphy, Berry and Dover (Carole) Murphy, Falmouth; three sisters, Mary Lois Ball, Cynthiana, Lucille (Harold) Simpson, Lexington, and Claudia Gross, Paris; nine grandchildren, Laura (Chris) Johnson, Tim Helvey, Tina Marie Helvey, Heather (Nick) Edwards, Ashley Helvey, Keith Allen Helvey, Michael Allen Helvey, Daniel Helvey, and Sammy Helvey; and two great-grandchildren, Hayley Johnson and Kayden Helvey.

She was preceded in death by her son, Richard Keith Helvey and two brothers, Harvey Murphy and Clayton Murphy.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Feb. 25 at 1 p.m. at Ware Funeral Home by Chaplain Steve Barton. Visitation will be at 11 a.m. Burial in Pythian Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass.
