Obituary of Michael Howland

Michael Howland, of Eatontown, who was drawn to serve as a petit juror at the present term of court, died at Freehold on Monday evening of last week. While at Freehold he stopped with his son, who lives at that place. After serving on several juries he was taken ill, and his illness becoming serious his wife was summoned from Eatontown . On Monday Mr. Howland was apparently better and his wife returned to her home happy in the hopes of his early recovery. Soon after she left However he grew much worse and died in a few hours. He was a carpenter by trade and was 65 years of age.
Michael's parents were Thomas Howland 1790-1854 and Elizabeth Wolcott 1794-1839 and they had 2 daughters and 7 sons.
