Walter Posey, for 30 years, a resident of this part of the state, died at Norman, October 26, 1923, after a long siege of illness and was buried here Monday afternoon, October 28, 1923. Funeral services were held at the Baptist church conducted by Rev. E. J. Jameson. He was born December19,1859 in Texas, the son of Thomas Berryhill Posey and Huldah Elizabeth (Hughes) Posey.
Mr. Posey left here about 4 years ago for Creek County where several of his children held allotments and where the family now lives. He suffered a breakdown several months ago but recently he was taken to Norman for special treatment which proved unavailing. The body was accompanied here by his wife, Lulu, and son, Terry.
Mr. Posey leaves a wife, Lulu, and several children. Two married daughters by a former wife, Mrs. Hockett, who lives in Montana and Mrs. Friend, who lives in Kellyville, also survived him.
