Doris Nolan Stanley, of Charleston, entered into eternal rest March 7, 2010. With her family at her side, she joined her late husband James William Stanley, Jr. in the Kingdom of Heaven.

Born December 4, 1931 in Blakely, GA, she was the daughter of the late Sarah White Nolan and the late Andrew Dewey Nolan.

She married the love of her life, James William Stanley on September 6, 1947. Doris loved being outside and soaking up all that the world had to offer. Anyone that knew her knew if it was a sunny day you could find her outside barefoot loving nature. They also knew to get her riled up just mention wrestling and Stone Cold Steve Austin or Hulk Hogan or any of the other names of the time.

She was predeceased by her parents, husband, brothers Eugene Nolan, Andrew Earl Nolan, Christopher Nolan, Johnny Nolan, and her great-granddaughter Ava-Grace Brynn Bullard. She will be deeply missed by her children: Brenda Doris Stanley Lancaster (AJ) of Charleston; Linda Stanley Sauls (Jackie Lee) of Eureka, NC; and James Mitchell Stanley (Shirley) of Darlington. Her beloved grandchildren: Shannon Lancaster Bullard (Jonathan) of Charleston; Trey Lancaster of Greenville, SC; Kendra Sauls Barron (Jason) of Cary, NC; Lee Sauls of Pikesville, NC; Brian Stanley (Erica) of Darlington; and Joshua Stanley (Ashley) of Darlington. She will be forever loved and missed by her five great-grandchildren. Her sister Sarah Roberts and brother Billy Ray Nolan will cherish the many memories they made with their sister. She will also be remembered by many nieces and nephews. We would like to thank Life Care Center of Charleston for all that they did for our mother/grandmother. She loved going to all of the socials, especially the ones with music. Her favorite was by far when Elvis would visit. The faculty and staff did much more than just take care of her. They loved her and became a part of our family. We will always be grateful for the way they treated her as well as our family.

Interment was in Carolina Memorial Gardens.
