Leslie Wooldridge, who operated a cotton gin here for many years, died in St. Joseph's Hospital at 8:40 p.m. Monday, Dec. 13. He had been in ill health for a number of months, but became critically ill only a few hours before his death. In recent months he had been a patient in Thomas Nursing Home. Mr. Wooldridge entered the ginning industry as a young man and operated a plant at Martha, Okla., near Altus. In 1913 he came to Wellington as manager for the Chickasha Cotton Oil Company properties. He also managed the Davis, Simmons Gin, and was a partner in the Kimbel Gin. After he retired from the ginning business, during the war years he was manager of Shamburger Lumber Company. Mr. Wooldridge was married Aug. 25, 1912 to Miss Lillian Ethel Burt at Hollis, Okla. She preceded him in death in August 1958. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors are three sons, Lloyd Wooldridge and Grant Wooldridge of Wellington, and Ray Wooldridge of Liberal, Kan. Other survivors are a brother, Adrian Wooldridge of Altus, and two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Cotney of Altus, and Mrs. Nannie Capehart of Olton. There are five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
