KENTON - Mrs. Naomi Shafer, 78, of 233 S. Wayne St., died at 6:25 a.m. Sunday in the Hardin County Home and Hospital.

She was born Feb. 25, 1888, in Monroeville, Ind., the daughter of John and Katherine (Barto) Magner. She was first married to Henry Gabes who died in 1924. She married Fred Shafer in 1929 and he died in 1956.

Surviving are step-daughters Mrs. Berniece Gibson, Kenton and Mrs. Walter Ulmer, Bucyrus, a sister, Mrs. Rosie Pelz, Fort Wayne, a brother, William, Sac City, Iowa; four step-grandchildren and 10 step great grandchildren.

Mrs. Shafer was a resident of Hardin County for 30 years.

Services are at 11 a.m. on Wednesday in the Schindewolf Memorial Funeral Home. The rev. Noah Wyatt will officiate with burial in Monroeville Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
