John was baptised 8,Feb,1826 the illegitimate son of Phyllis Goggs (1804 - 1864 ), His mother married in 1829 to Norton Bunting & had more children of which his half sister Mary (Bunting) Hamilton 2 sons Herbert & Sydney were mentioned in his will, living in Wisbech,Cambridgeshire,England, one got mine stocks & the other inherited some property in Cowlitz Co.,WA,USA. They were listed as nephews. He came to the USA in 1847 on the ship Switzerland out of London,England. He never married.
