Funeral services for Mr. Owen Malone will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at Red Store Pentecostal Church in Cotile, with Reverends Douglas Freeman, Donell Spurgeons officiating. Interment will be at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Esler Field Community, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville.
Mr. Malone, age 84, of Boyce, entered eternal rest on Monday, January 25, 2010, at Tioga Manor Nursing Home, Tioga.
A native of the Tioga/Ball area, he was owner/operator of Malone's Maintenance Service and worked for 7UP Bottling Company for 25 years. He was a U.S. Marine Veteran serving the WWII in the Southwest Pacific. He was a member of Red Store Pentecostal Church in Cotile.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Moses F. "Bud" Malone and Maggie Nugent Malone; two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife of 11 years, Charlotte K. Malone of Cotile; three sons, Calvin Owen (Missy) Malone of Pineville, Steve Malone (Fran) of Woodworth, Scott Malone(Delilah) of Dry Prong; eight daughters, Barbara Chisholm of West Monroe, Etta Robbins (Rudy) of Humble, Texas, Faye Weldon (Kenny) of Deer Park, Texas, Paula Cain (Ricky) of Pineville, Julie Double (Willie) of Pineville, Verna Deen Brashear (Kevin) of Prospect, Lorenell Looney (Charles) of Prospect, and Melody Carter (Matt) of New Llano, Louisiana; two brothers, Marvin Malone (Ethel) of Pineville and David Paul Malone of Pineville; three sisters Alice Steel of Pineville, Beatrice Thornhill of Pineville and Wanda Richardson of Pineville; 60 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons and honorary pallbearers will be his sons-in-law.
Friends may call at Red Store Pentecostal Church, Cotile, on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
