GREENSBORO, NC — Evon Creede Jackson died on Wednesday, January 13, 2010.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, 2 pm at Hanes- Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel with Rev. Paul Marth officiating. Burial followed at Guilford Memorial Park.
Evon was born on March 4, 1923 in Ronda, NC, the daughter of Oscar and Pearl Creede.
She was a wonderful loving mother who was also a best friend to her daughter.
Evon was a hairdresser for 37 years, and had an Associate Degree in Business. She was a member of the American Business Women's Association. She assisted her daughter, Debby with her dog rescuing efforts.
Evon was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Love Sunday School Class.
She was a very loving and generous person and was adored by her family and friends and especially for her sweet smile.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her longtime friend, Mario Lattarulo.
She is survived by her daughter, Debby Jackson McDonald of Greensboro, NC; sisters, Eva Byrd of Greensboro; Cleo Dunbar of Holland, MI, Edith Frazer (Joe) of Fort Myers, FL, Samantha Burgess of Belle Fourche, SD, Jean Creede of Pleasant Garden, NC; and brother, Ray Creede (Van) of Elon, NC.
The family would like to give special thanks to the wonderful and loving staff at Clapp's Nursing Center for the outstanding care they gave Evon, especially Kelly Adams. They would also like to thank Evon's roommate, Virginia Neelley, for being such a good friend and a blessing to her and her family.
