Journal and Courier - Farmer Killed Near Newtown:

Newtown - Hanson Young, 57, a farmer, died of injuries received in a tractor accident near the home of his son three miles north of here Tuesday. His home was on Fowler Road.

Young was driving a tractor onto a road when the tractor hit a post and turned over, apparrently crushing him but not pinning him beneath the vehicle. his son, Kenneth pulled him from under the tractor and hurried to summon a doctor. Young was able to stand up, but became violently ill and died before the doctor arrived.

He was born in Hardin County, Kentucky and was a veteran of World War I. He married Katherine Hart in 1922 and was a member of the Methodist Church and American Legion at Brookston.

Surviving besides the widow are four sons, Robert of Attica, Herbert of Brookston, Kenneth of Wingate and John at home; his mother, Mrs. Grant Young of Brookston; three sisters, Mrs. May Spencer of Lafayette, Mrs. Sallie Young of Lafayette, Mrs. Carrie Cain; two brothers, Hubert of Brookston, and James of Brookston.

Friends may call at the family residence, after 7 p.m. Wednesday. Services at Brookston Methodist Church 2 p.m. Friday. Burial in IOOF Cemetery, Brookston, Thompson Funeral Home, Brookston, in charge.
