McKinley Scarberry
FLORENCE — A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 7, at Florence Christian Church for McKinley "Ken" Scarberry of Florence, who died Dec. 28 of age-related causes. He was 87. Inurnment will be at Pacific Sunset Cemetery in Florence.
He was born Sept. 27, 1922, in Paw Paw, Ky., to Elijah and Sally Scarberry. He married Osey Estep on Dec. 9, 1945, in Kentucky.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, from 1942 to 1944.
He owned and operated the Woodsman Nursery in Florence for 10 years, and owned and operated the Coast-to-Coast store in Reedsport for a short time. He also worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Florence.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Dan Scarberry of Florence; and two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Arrangements by Burns's Riverside Chapel Florence Funeral Home. Remembrances to the Florence Masonic Lodge or PeaceHealth Hospice.
