Marietta, OK — .Services for Dorothy Vivian McKnight, 87, of Burneyville, Okla., will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, December 31, 2009, in Marietta's First Baptist Church with Rev. Shane Norton officiating. Interment will follow in the Terral Cemetery, Terral, Okla., under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Marietta.

Mrs. McKnight was born October 13, 1922, in Montague County, Texas, the daughter of Charlie Edward and Mary E. Abshier McCalip. She passed away Sunday, December 27, 2009, in Mercy Memorial Health Center, Ardmore, Okla.

A resident of Burneyville for the past 30 years, Mrs. McKnight had previously lived in the Fort Worth, Texas, area. She and Wylie A. McKnight were married March 13, 1944, in Colorado Springs, Colo., and he preceded her in death on March 29, 2001. Mrs. McKnight graduated as valedictorian of the 1941 class of Union Valley High School, Union Valley, Okla. She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren. Mrs. McKnight was a member of the First Baptist Church of Marietta. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Sue and Bobby Watson of Reno, Nev., Mary and Douglas Pearson of Draper, Utah, and Betty McKnight of Austin, Texas; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Cecil and Frankie McCalip of Burneyville, and Billy and Willa McCalip and Joe and Wanda McCalip of Wichita Falls, Texas; a sister, Juanita Arey, also of Wichita Falls; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Bearers will be sons-in-law, Bobby Watson and Doug Pearson; grandsons, Stephan Bryson and Noah Crist; and nephews, Jimmy Coffman and Billy Wayne Arey. Honorary bearers are Roger McCalip, Billy Ray McCalip, Darrin Ard, Randy Crist, Ronnie McCalip and Kevin Stinson.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. today at Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home.
