He was born in Eramosa Township near Guelph, Canada. An excellent horse trader. A farmer who bought run-down farms, improved them, and sold at a profit. The whole family was organized into departments, e.g. dairy, field crops, chickens etc. As a member of a large extended family he was sort of a "pater familias." He was prominent around Altamont, Kansas in civic affairs and the Presbyterian Church. Henry died on a train returning from a visit to his son Jay L. Lush, PhD at Texas A & M.
