Manuel "Manny" Mejias, 53, of Kempner died Nov. 12, 2009, at his residence.

Funeral services were Nov. 16 at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home Chapel in Copperas Cove. Burial followed at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery.

Mr. Mejias was born May 4, 1956, in Wiesbaden, Germany, to Juan and Mary Mejias.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1975 until his retirement in 1995. He traveled all over the world during his military career.

After retirement, Mr. Mejias was an aircraft mechanic for a military contractor.

His hobbies included swimming, playing horseshoes, golf and riding his motorcycle.

Survivors include his wife, Alanna Mejias of Kempner; four sons, Christopher Mejias, Mark Mejias and wife, Sandra, Nicholas Mejias and Juan Mejias, all of Texas; two grandchildren, Ethan Manuel and Kylin Raye; and numerous other relatives including nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Alanna Jane Cordrey.
