Soul singer. She started in her family's gospel group, the Jones Singers, at age six. Her first recording was "Lonely Teardrops" (under the stage name of Linda Lane) on Cub Records in 1963, and she had unsuccessful singles on Atco Records in 1964 and Blue Cat Records in 1965. She joined Loma Records and recorded her biggest hit, "Hypnotized" (Billboard #4 R&B, #21 Pop), in 1967. She later had releases on Warner 7-Arts, Cotique and Neptune Records before joining Turbo Records, where she recorded "Your Precious Love" (Billboard #15 R&B, #74 Pop) in 1971. She was a diabetic since childhood.
