Raymond J. Hromadka Sr., age 86, of West, passed away early Friday evening, October 1, 2010 at his residence.

A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Sunday at Aderhold Funeral Home by Msgr. Isidore Rozycki and Janice Kaluza, followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Military Graveside Rites will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, conducted by West V.F.W. Post #4819.Raymond was born on July 12, 1924 in Hill County, the son of Joe and Mary (Koval) Hromadka. He attended Alligator and West Schools. Raymond served his country with the United States Army during World War II. On December 27, 1948, he was united in marriage to Lillie Mynar in West. Raymond owned and operated the Cottonwood Store for 39 years before retiring in 1989. He was also a painter and an R.V.O.S. Insurance Agent. Raymond enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, watching the Dallas Cowboys, listening to polka music, and playing dominoes. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. He was also a member of the .S.P.J.S.T. Lodge #6 in Cottonwood, a 50 year member of K.J.T. Society #31, the Knights of Columbus Council #2305, R.V.O.S. Lodge #46, Veterans of Foriegn Wars Post #4819, and American Legion Post #478.

Raymond is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Willie Hromadka; and a sister, Irene Krizan.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 61 years, Lillie Hromadka of West; three sons, Raymond Joe Hromadka, Jr. and wife Janice of West, James Hromadka and wife Charlotte and Larry Hromadka and wife Cindy, all of Penelope; two daughters, Lillie Marie Mynar and husband Bennie of Abbott and Deborah Hromadka and husband Ben Fish of Leesburg; a brother, Joe Hromadka Jr. of West; two sisters, Helen Ruetten and husband Tony of Elm Mott and Mary Ann White of Waco; 12 grandchildren, Stephanie Matus and husband Mike, Bennie Mynar, Jr. and wife Cristy, Becki Price and husband Mike, Stacie Mynar and friend Zach Davis, Raymond J. Hromadka III and fiancé Jennifer Meals, Craig Hromadka and wife Mary, Kayla Hromadka and friend Albert Seghi, Jimbo Hromadka, Jr. and wife Megan, Amy Keel and husband Heath, Ashley Hromadka and friend Brandon Nors, Alicia Hromadka, and Larry Hromadka, Jr.; 7 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers are Bennie Mynar Jr., Raymond Hromadka III, Craig Hromadka, Jimbo Hromadka Jr., Larry Hromadka Jr., Mike Matus, Mike Price, Zach Davis, Heath Keel, Albert Seghi, and Brandon Nors.
