Newport News- Glenice Hamby Voyles, 75, devoted wife and beloved mother, passed away Wednesday August 26, 2009 at her residence. She was a native of Tennessee. Mrs. Voyles served in the US Army during the Korean conflict.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years Billy E. Voyles in 2007.
She is survived by her children William R. Voyles , Sharon Reay and husband Jim and Jeannie Winslow; her grandchildren Billy, Nicole, Leanne, DJ, Jeramie, Sarah, Sean and Will; two brothers Hallard Hamby and Thurman Hamby and a sister Thelma Thomas.
A funeral service will be held Saturday at 10:30 in the chapel of Altmeyer Funeral Home 12893 Jefferson Ave. Newport News with burial to follow at Hampton Memorial Garden. Visitation is Friday from 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home.
