Howard Coats was a lifelong farmer in the Union Star MO area. He was a member & deacon of the Flag Springs Baptist Church and was a former member of the I.O.O.F Flag Springs. Howard was a good neighbor and friend to many people.
On October 10, 1935 he married Ellen Flanagan in Savannah MO. She preceeded him in death May of 1998.
His parents Levi and Anna Mary (Noland) Coats, 3 infant sons, granddaughter Laura Sparling, an infant granddaughter, 2 sisters Nellie Wallace & Cecil Oyerly, and 5 brothers John, Wesley, Ramsey, Levi, Harold and Guston Coats also preceeded him in death.
Survivors include 7 sons, Irvan, Lee, Ted, Willaim, Joe, David & Tom and 5 daughters Lela Innes, Cecil Talley, Nancy Townsend, Mary Orwald and Jeannie Laffoon. 33 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.
