Amelia was born in London to George Harford and his wife Jessie (nee Kenneth). Her family being poor, she was raised in the Central London School District while her parents remained in the workhouse. Around the age of four her father seemingly abandoned the family and immigrated to Australia, remarried without gaining a divorce from Jessie, and begun a new life in Adelaide. Growing up she continued to live in the London workhouses going to school. When she became fourteen or so, she lived with her aunts and uncles in Scarbrough and gained employment as a servant. She eventually moved to Sculcoates, East Yorkshire where other family members resided. Here she met her future husband and married William Myers Pinchbeck on September 23, 1895. Together they raised a large family of nine children, Amelia Dora, Maud Susannah, Joseph William, Thomas Cyril, Doris, Lena May, Dorothy, Evelyn Beatrice, and Clarence Pinchbeck. Amelia adored raising birds and worked or owned a local candy shop. She often said that she'd make it to 100 years of age and, she just about did. Cause of death was pneumonia.

William and Amelia do not have a gravestone (confirmed).
