Mrs. Susan Kauffman, 75 years old, widow of Amos H. Kauffman died at 8:30 o'clock yesterday morning at the home of Amos C. Groff, 721 South Lime street, of paralysis after having been sick since last Saturday. She was born December 12, 1846 at Creswell. For 34 years she resided in Providence township, near Rawlinsville, later at Rohrerstown where her husband farmed the Henry Long farm which is now Long's Park. Her husband has been dead nine years. She was a member of the Rawlinsville Methodist church. She is survived by the following children, W. Scott Kauffman, Media; Harry F., Lancaster; Ella F., wife of Amos C. Groff, city and Lila F., wife of Arlanda Hadden, near Rawlinsville. The following brothers and sisters also survive, Mrs. Delilah Reese, Washington Boro; Mrs. Anna Brenneman, Columbia; Jacob Frey, Mt. Vernon, N.Y.; Heistand Frey, Washington Boro; and Frederick Frey, Creswell. (The News-Journal - October 18, 1922)
