Mr. Guy York Jr. , 72 , died at his residence after a long illness in Waycross, Ga.
He was a native of August but had made his home in Waycross for 26 years. and was a son of the late Gus York Sr. and Louise Carswell .
He served with the US Army Medical Corps. in France during WW2 and was a Fire Inspector for 10 years with the State Fire Marshall's Office prior to his retirement in 1987.
Survived by his wife Mrs. Margaret Brandenburg York of Waycross

Funeral will be held Friday at the First Presbyterian Church following burial into Greenlawn Cemetery.
Miles-Odun Funeral Home is in charge.
