OBITUARY

N.P. HAGE DIES SUDDENLY

Last Thursday afternoon N. P. Hage expired suddenly while setting up in bed. He had been sick for several weeks, it is true, but physician called a short time before his death and Noels was feeling better then than he had been for some time. In fact, it was just about ten minutes after the doctor left that Noels sat upland told those attending him that he was chocking, gave a gasp or two, and all was over.

The deceased had been ailing for the last few years with heart trouble. He was also afflicted with cancer of the stomach and liver and therefore was beyond all hope of complete recovery, although his death was not looked for at this time.

Nels Peterson Hage was fifty-seven years old, a native of Norway but for many years a resident of Dovre, and this county. He was a hard worker, strictly honest and square with his neighbors. He may have been at times inclined to intemperance but for all, he was a man when dealing with his fellows. We shall remember him for his good qualities and as a firm friend and forget for all time any of his short comings. His death is the occasion for keen regret, personally and also among a host of friends in this vicinity. He is survived by his wife and several sons and daughters who are grown.

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, Rev. Refsdal officiating and interment was made in the Lutheran cemetery at Dovre.

Nels' large monument is next to the flat stone of his wife, Bertha. It is also to the left of brother Ole Petersen Hage.

Nels was the son of Peter Christensen Hage and Cecile Olsdatter (buried here); the husband of Emma Anderson and Bertha Skoug; the brother of Ole, Ingeborg, Agnette, Gilbert, Karin, Nicolene, Peter and Thena; the father of Alice, Paul, Albert, Carl, Sigvald, Agnes, Henry and Albert (with first wife Emma), and Oscar, Selma, Pauline, Nora and Arthur with second wife Bertha.
