Helen Daniels of West Hazleton passed away on Tuesday at Lehigh Valley Hospital.
Born in Hazleton, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Mary (Rosti) George.
She was a graduate of West Hazleton High School, Class of 1944. Following graduation, she was employed as a secretary by Disabled American Veterans. Since 1974, she has been employed as the office manager of St. Peter's Episcopal Church on Laurel Street in Hazleton. Helen was a member of St. Francis Assisi Church, West Hazleton, where she had been involved with the Altar and Rosary Society for many years. She was a dedicated volunteer at both churches.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, was a sister, Jenny Facinelli.
Surviving are her husband of 61 years, Rudy; daughters, Mary Ellen Savage and her husband, William; and Anne Balko and her husband, Buster, all of Hazleton; grandchildren, Billy, Melissa, Brian, Sherri, Michelle, Julie and Wendy; a great-grandson, Max; a brother, Frank George, West Hazleton; and a sister, Gloria Sofianek, and her husband, Leo, Elicott City, Md.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, West Hazleton.
Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Drums.
Friends may call at the church Saturday from 8 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Laurel Street, Hazleton, PA 18201, would be appreciated.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Laurel Street, Hazleton.
