Grandpa Eddins was a gentle giant of a man. He would draw water out of the well for me and my sister and we thought it was the best water. I remember riding on the trailer behind his tractor going to the woods to cut firewood because that is the way that he and grandma heated their house. They didn't get an indoor bathroom until their children were grown and I remember going to their 2 seater outhouse. Even after they got a bathroom in the house grandpa still went to the outhouse. Grandpa and I used to sit on his porch and watch the lighting bugs and sweat flies would tickle as they would drink our sweat. Grandpa would tell me to sit still that they wouldn't hurt me. My grandparents lived at the end of a long dirt road with only one way in and out. We use to walk down to the creek and play with our toys in his driveway. I remember him making us dolls out of corn cobs and watching him using his knife to carve things. And the water bucket on the porch drinking out of a big dipper. My grandpa had a glass eye that I thought was creepy. My mother has his eye in her dresser drawer. His eye was poked out by a tree limb. My grandpa went to sleep one night and didn't wake up. I still miss him so much.

Cause of death: a massive heart attack in his sleep.
