LOUIS RAUTMANN, RESIDENT OF JOHNSONVILLE, SUMMONED

Louis Rautmann, 75, well known resident of the town of Sheboygan Falls and. the village of Johnsonville died in Johnsonville of a heart attack at 3:30 p.m. Friday.

Mr Rautmann, who was devoted to his family and who always was willing to help people to need of assistance was well liked and his death will be mourned by many friends. He lived in Johnsonville all his life and was an active member of the Zion Reformed church there.

Death occurred after Mr. Rautmann had chopped some branches off a tree near his home, according to Coroner Wesley Van Zanten, who was called to the scene. Louis Rautmann was born on Aug. 30, 1866, in the town Sheboygan Falls..

On Feb. 14, 1891, his marriage to Miss Anna Roethel occurred. Five children were born, three of them daughters, Mrs. Julius Emma Kuhlow, Mrs. Otto Vera Herzog, and Mrs. Albert Ella Kuhlow, all of the town of Sheboygan Falls. The first Mrs. Rautmann died on Nov. 13, 1897, and two, sons also preceded him in death.

On Sept. 6, 1898, Mr. Rautmann was married to Mrs. Louisa Westphal. Eight children were born, four daughters, Mrs. Arthur Frieda Kaufmann, town of Sheboygan Falls, Mrs. Charles Louise Meyer of Fence, Wis., Mrs. August Leona Schroeder of Glenbeulah, Wis., Mrs. Ed. Millie Klahn of Fence, Wis., four sons, Ewald and Rudpoph at the homestead, Arthur Rautmann of Chippewa Falls, and Henry, in the service at Fort Knox, Ky., 35 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The widow by his second marriage, the three daughters by his first marriage, and the eight children by his second marriage survive him.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Walter Ahrens Funeral home at Howards Grove and at 2 p.m. at the Zion Reformed church at Johnsonville. The Rev, H. T. Vriesen of the Zion Reformed church will officiate, and burial will be made in the church cemetery. Friends may view the body from Sunday noon until the hour of the services.
