The sixth child of the late Nicholas Roberson and Bertie Idell Manning Griffin, she was a graduated from Washington High School on May 15, 1942. She married Paul L. Baker on April 15, 1943, at the First Baptist Church of Washington. In additions to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years; five siblings, Idell Edwards, Olivia Coburn, Lucille Cowan, Henry K. Griffin and Vera Harris. She was survived by her daughter, Barbara Arnold and her husband Billy; grandson, Jeffery S. Allen and his wife Courtney; great grandsons, Jordan Paul and Jacob Clay Allen; and an extended family of relatives. She worked with American Lady Corsett until her employment with Union Carbide. Her funeral was held on September 3, 2009.
