Carol Bauer, 76, of N1075 Weggen Road, rural Fall Creek, passed away Tuesday evening, Aug. 18, 2009, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.
Carol Bauer, daughter of Fredrick and Leila (Ingle) Henning, was born June 19, 1933, in the town of Lincoln, rural Fall Creek. She attended school in the towns of Lincoln and Wilson, and graduated from Augusta School. She was united in marriage to Emil Bauer on Nov. 23, 1955, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Eau Claire. The couple lived four years in the Durand and Mondovi area before moving to their farm in the Rodell area of rural Augusta. After 17 years of farming, they moved to their present home in the town of Ludington in 1976. Before her marriage she had worked as a telephone operator and at Equity Livestock. She had also worked at several nursing homes in the area. She had been a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Augusta, where she was involved in the altar society. She loved tending to her flower gardens and the companionship of her house cats.
She is survived by her husband, Emil, of rural Fall Creek; brother, Fritz (Arlene) Henning, of Eagleton; sister, Gwen Marion, of Eau Claire; in-laws, Irene Henning of Eau Claire, Edna Henning of Chippewa Falls and Leonard Lange of Altoona; the Bauer family and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, Leonard, Glen and Roscoe Henning, Gladys Lange and Phyllis Steinke.
Emil would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff of Fall Creek Valley Care Center and Sacred Heart Hospital for the wonderful care shown to Carol while she was with them. Also, a very special thank you to the neighbors, Laurene Ruff, John and Ione Lone, Jim and Ellie Grunewald, Leroy and Marlene Erickson and their families. Your support, love and friendship will never be forgotten.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Sat. Aug. 22, 2009, at Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta, with burial in Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery in the town of Seymour.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.
