Eva and her mother emigrated to the United States on the ship Princess Irene on May 13, 1913, Eva was only 2 years old. They came to meet her father already in the United States.
They came through Ellis Island where the clerks changed her name from Irma to Eva due to not understanding Italian and Elvira's thick Italian accent.
She married Louis Rancatore in 1926 when she was only 16 years old, they eloped to Pennsylvania. They would then have another ceremony on 31 May 1927 in Cleveland, Ohio with family present. They would make a home and raise two children in Cleveland, Ohio: Gilda Marie (1928-1912) and Peter (1933-1919) and 5 grandchildren.
Eva is laid to rest along side her husband of 52 years Louis in Holy Cross Cemetery, 14609 Brookpark Road, Brook Park, Ohio 44142 (216 267-2850)
