Daughter of John Westley Lawler and Letha Lavada Hodges Lawler.

Sadie had 3 sisters, Doris Edna, Mary Virginia and Freeda O. 4 brothers Liberty Wilson, Jack Westley, Elbert Lewis and Donald Lee.

She was preceded in death by her husband Gilbert W. Johnson. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Sadie lived a happy and healthy life of almost 96 years. She was a wonderful homemaker and enjoyed a successful modeling career during the 50's and 60's.

Sadie was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was also a member of the California Utah Women of 37 years, where she served on the board as Recording Secretary for over 30 years and was famous for her delicious Christmas fudge.

Sadie is survied by her sister Freeda Graham of South Carolina; her Son David G. and Marie Johnson; granddaughters Leslie and Tracy Johnson; grandson Michael D and Eva Johnson; and a great grandson Andre Johnson; as well as her nieces, nephews and extended family.

As for me I remember the wonderful family gathering that would take place when Aunt Sadie's family came to Modesto to visit from Long Beach. Holidays at Aunt Freeda's house on Ohio Ave. I drive by the house now and it looks so small, my memories it was a big house, it must have been all the happy times that made it large.
