Mrs. Luma M. Merkel, 84, died Monday in her Lyons, Berks County, home. She was the widow of Charles E. Merkel. Born in Rockland Township, a daughter of the late William and Matilda (Zwoyer) Grim, Mrs. Merkel was a member of Grace Evangelical Congregational Church, Kutztown. Surviving are two daughters, Anna M., wife of Carl McLaughlin of Allentown, and Barbara J., at home; a sister Nora, wife of G. C. Baum of Miami; a brother, Paul C. Grim of Sinking Spring R. 5, Berks county, and a grandchild and three great-grandchildren. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the Trexler & Hook Funeral Home, 25 E. Weiss St., Topton. There will be no calling hours.
