Avanell Smith Wilson was born to the late Willis Smith & Liza (Arvin) Smith on April 30, 1937.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Harlos Wilson; by one son- Timothy Doyle Wilson and his wife Donn Wilson of Tyner, KY. She has two grandsons- Daniel Oakley Wilson of Campton, KY and David Earl Wilson of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. She is also survived by the following brothers and sisters- Vada Jean Drew & her husband Leonard of Fairfield, OH; Eudean Smith and his wife Lorene of Richmond, IN; Jack Smith and his wife Geraldine of McKee, KY; Everett Smith and his wife Ora of McKee, KY; Carl Smith of McKee, KY; Ann Salmon of Hamilton, OH; Sue Prince and her husband Bill of Hamilton, OH; Kay Peters and her husband Johnny of Gray Hawk, KY and Kenny Smith of McKee, KY. She is also survived by a sister-in-law- Dorothy Smith of Annville, KY and by a host of nieces and nephews.
Avanell (Granny) was preceded in death by two brothers- Odell Smith and Willis Smith Jr.
Avanell was an active member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
Funeral service was held 11:00 AM Saturday, June 20, 2009 at Lakes Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Farmer officiating. Burial followed in the Wilson & Hurst Cemetery at Tyner, KY.
