My father married my mother in Washington, Georgia July 5, 1942. They moved to Cleveland in 1943 where he worked in the steel mill for 43 years. When my Dad saw someone working he would say "that's how I got started." He was no stranger to hard work!
In spite of all the hard work Dad was such a jokester that he always had something funny to say. His co-workers could hardly wait until the end of their shift to hear what tall tales he had for the day.
His brother Grady who worked in the mill with him used to say Dad had "lies to tell" which always seemed to turn into the truth by the time the tail was told.
