Louisa Day was born to John and Sarah Durst in Morrowville, Kansas, on July 31, 1894. She passed from this life in Colorado Springs, Colo., on Jan. 22, 1958.

While growing up in the Morrowville community Louisa attended the local school and the Methodist church. While at an early age she was baptized and joined the Methodist church, to which she remained a loyal member.

In July of 1914 she was united in marriage to George Houdek, who passed away in February of 1920. To this union two children were born: George, Jr. and Vivian Darlene. On September 30, 1922, she was united in marriage to Everett Elvin Day at Fairbury, Nebr. Two daughters blessed this union: Anita Louise and Betty Jo. During July of 1942 Mr. and Mrs. Day moved to Colorado Springs, Colo., where they have been making their home.

Mrs. Day is survived by her husband, Everet (sic) E. of the home; a son, George Houdek, Jr., of Salina, Kansas; and three daughters: Mrs. Harold McAuley, and Mrs. Willard Rieke, Chester, Nebraska; and Mrs. Dale Banks, Downs, Kansas. She is also survived by two brothers, Wesley Durst, Morrowville, Ks. and John Durst, Soldier, Ks.; and five grandchildren. Mrs. Day will be dearly and fondly remembered by a host of devoted friends and relatives.

Mrs. Day was a wonderful wife and mother with affection centered in fulfilling her obligation to the family. A fine Christian in all daily living, and practice, and loyal to her consecration in the Methodist church in which she held membership. Her happy, sunny life, here, was translated into eternal life in the night, to awaken in the eternal sunlight flooding the Hills of God.

Services were held at the First Methodist church (sic) in Morrowville, Kans., with interment at Washington, Kans., Saturday, Jan. 25. The officiating minister was the Rev. E. Curtis Camp, Morrowville, Kansas.

Pallbearers were nephews of Mrs. Day, Wesley Durst, Jr., Paul Durst, George Durst, John Durst, Floyd Durst, and Bill Sommers.
