Services for Dorothy Dent Gilbert, 85, Chandler, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 2, 2009, at Tyler Memorial chapel with Pastor Walter Jones officiating.
Burial will be in Tyler Memorial Park under direction of Tyler Memorial Funeral Home.
Mrs. Gilbert died May 30, 2009, in Tyler. She was born June 19, 1923, in Kemp. She lived in Chandler since 1980 and was a former resident of Tyler. She was a housewife and seamstress, and a member of Westlake Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, W. Ray Gilbert, and sons, Jimmy Gilbert and Dale Gilbert.
Survivors include sons, Larry Gilbert of Navasota, Ronnie Gilbert of Iowa Park, Danny Gilbert and Marvin Gilbert, both of Brownsboro; daughter, Jean Wright of Tyler; sisters, Joyce Sasek and Nelda Pullen, both of Chandler; brother, Mike Dent of Fort Worth; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Terry O. Norrell, Keith Gilbert, Larry Paul Gilbert, Dustin A. Gilbert, Sean Gilbert, Colton Gilbert and Brandon Gifford.
Visitation will be Monday, June 1, 2009, 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
