Gaspare "Joe" Scurti passed away at his residence at the age of 76. He was a native of Marsalla, Italy where he was born to Gaspare Sr. and Antoinetta Lecari Scurti. He had lived in Carson City for the past 20 years, coming from San Jose, CA. He has worked as a painter. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Sierra Madre Council and St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife, Rose and daughter, Irene Summers, both of Carson City; son, Gaspare III of Gilroy, CA and Dominic of Kingman, AZ; daughter, Annette Flickenger and brother, Paul, both of Sacramento, CA; brothers, Sal and Andrew, both of San Jose; sisters, Victoria Groboski of Reno and Rose Smith of Clear Lake, CA; 24 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
