Mabel F. DeLong, 96, of 59 Reading Drive, Wernersville, Friday at 10:25 a.m. in the Phoebe Berks Health Care Center, Wernersville, where she had been a guest since March 1.
Her husband, Howard DeLong, died Jan. 7, 1938.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was a daughter of the late John and Jennie (McFee) Ferguson.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where she was the first woman trustee serving for six years during the 1950's. She also was the first woman to serve as a trustee of Community General Hospital, a post she held for 23 years, retiring in 1969.
During World War II, she was secretary treasurer of British War Relief.
She received a bachelor's degree from Adelphi University, Garden City, Long Island, N.Y.
Survivors include two sons, Howard, West Hartford, Conn., and Charles, Corpus Christi, Texas, two daughters, Emmajane DeLong, with whom she resided, and Grace, wife of Richard C. Einsel, West Hartford, Conn.
There are also seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in First Presbyterian Church. Burial will be private. The Henninger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
