WILLIAM COATS
William "Bill" Coats, 64, of 514 W. Sexton Road, died Monday morning at his home after an illness of several months. Mr. Coats was born June 24, 1908, in Boone County to Thomas and Martha Latimer Coats. He was married to the former Elva Weyand on March 21, 1934. Until ill health forced his retirement, he was engaged in the retail grocery business and then farming and trucking. Mr. Coats was a member of the Locust Grove United Methodist Chruch. Survivors include his wife; a son, Larry Coats, Leawood, Kan.; a daughter, Mrs. Louis Spaunhorst, Kansas City; a brother, Lemmie Coats, 114 Parkade Blvd.; four grandchildren. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Memorial Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Paul York of Locust Grove United Methodist Church. Burial will be at the Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be sent to the American Cancer Society.
