A pretty wedding took place on Tuesday morning, January 15, at St. Catherine's church, when Miss Mathilda Kounkel (sic/Kunkel) and Albert Mayrose were united in marriage by Rev. Father Rolfes. The ceremony took place in the presence of near relatives and friends of the bride and groom. The bride was attired in a beautiful gown of white silk messaline, with lace trimmings, her veil being in cap effect caught with two rosebuds, and carried a beautiful bouquet of bridal roses. They were attended by Miss Anna Mayrose, sister of the groom, and Arthur Kounkel (sic/Kunkel), a brother of the bride. The bridesmaid was attired in a beautiful gown of yellow silk over net and carried a beautiful bouquet of yellow roses. Following the ceremony the bridal party and guests went to the home of the bride's parents where a four course dinner was served for relatives and friends. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kounkel (sic/Kunkel) and the groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Jos. Mayrose, both of Oyens. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Mayrose will make their home on a farm three miles south of here. Both bride and bridegroom are popular young people and have a large circle of friends who wish them every happiness.
