Loyd Vonallmen, 84, of Cabool, Missouri, departed this life on August 21, 2008 at Kabul Nursing Home, Cabool.
He was born on March 3, 1924 in Rover, Missouri, the son of Charley and Ollie (Sparks) Vonallmen. His family moved to Cabool when he was four years old.
Loyd attended school at Cabool, graduating in 1942. He lived in Cabool until he enlisted in the Army in 1943. While serving in the Army he met and married Stella Perez, and to this union three children were born, Loyd, Jr., Charlie and Sylvia Rachel.
Loyd was preceded in death by his parents, Charley and Ollie Vonallmen; three sisters, Nora Belle Vonallmen, Ruby Cook and Dora Griffin; three brothers, Jake Vonallmen, Robert Vonallmen and Paul Vonallmen; and his son, Loyd Vonallmen, Jr.
He is survived by his son, Charlie Vonallmen of San Antonio, Texas; his daughter, Sylvia Rachel Vonallmen of Las Vegas, Nevada; one sister, Millie Rackley of Kansas City, Missouri; two brothers, Vernie Vonallmen of Cabool and Ray Vonallmen of Louisville, Kentucky; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Loyd enjoyed playing board games and drawing. He lovingly cared for his mother for several years after his father's death. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
Interment was in Cabool Cemetery on August 22, 2008 under the direction of Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home of Cabool. Memorial services will be at a later date.
