Age 90, a Sister of St. Joseph and long time Catholic educator. Daughter of the late William and Mary Britt. Prior to entering the Sisters of St. Joseph in Sept. 1939, Sister Eileen earned a bachelor's degree in French from D'Youville College, Buffalo, She professed her religious vows Aug. 29, 1942.
Sister Eileen earned a bachelor's degree in education from Mount St. Joseph Teachers College, now Medaille College in Buffalo, in 1945. She began her ministry in teaching at Christ the King School in Snyder in 1939. Over the next 40 years, she taught in many diocesan schools, leading up to her final assignment at Cathedral School in Buffalo, where she served as assistant principal, librarian and reading coordinator.
Unil her retirement in 2000, Sister Eileen served as an administrative aide at the Sisters' Residence in Clarence.
Burial took place in the isters' section of Forest Lawn Cemetery, Buffalo.
