A native of England, Samuel Digby, 79, of 849 Clay Dr, Akron, died Wednesday in Barberton Citizens Hospital after a three year illness.
He formerly was a foreman in the Goodyear paint shop and retired 15 years ago. He lived in Akron 52 years and was a member of the Faith Evangelical United Brethren Church.
Mr Digby leaves his wife, Mary M; stepdaughters, Mrs Edna Williams of Hartville and Mrs Esther Rothacher of Brazil, IN; a stepson, Charles W Hughes of Taylor, MI; a brother, Fred of Akron; nine grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
Services will be Saturday at 1pm in the Dunn-Quigley Funeral Home where family will receive friends from 7-9pm tonight and 2-4pm & 7-9pm Friday.
Burial will be in Lakewood Cemetery, Akron.
