Olivia's grandmother, Tynia Berry, described Olivia as a smart, energetic, daredevil who loved to jump off the couch on to pillows on the floor. Tynia called her "Livi" for a nickname. Not even two-years-old, Olivia had already learned to count to ten and say her ABCs, Lola Berry said. She was always laughing and chasing her great-grandmother and grandmother. "Olivia was the life of the party," said Lola Berry who was Olivia's great-grandmother. "She was the center of attention."

This precious child's life was stolen from her by a murderer who beat her to death. He is serving life in prison without the possibility of parole for murder plus three additional life terms for abuse.

Services were held at New Hope Baptist Church.

Olivia and her younger brother were abused by their mother's boyfriend, Kerry Joe Smith, according to authorities. Smith and the mother, Wendy Deniece Scroggins, were arrested after they left the girl's lifeless body at an Oklahoma City hospital. Smith, 23, is awaiting trial on a first-degree murder charge. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty. Wendy Scroggins, 23, was sentenced in February 2008 to 75 years in prison for permitting child abuse.
