Raffaele was born at home at 8 Via Villa in Giano Vetusto.

Raffaele Simone came to America at the age of 17 marrying Anna Colucci in 1918 and settling in Cleveland, Ohio. He worked as a tailor for the May Company for 25 years before moving to southern California where he continued working for May Company in downtown Los Angeles and eventually Haven's Men's Wear in Huntington Park.

Ralph loved his garden particularly the tomatoes and figs. He and his wife loved to cook (everything made from scratch) and the family loved to gather at their home to eat on a regular basis. These were two truly wonderful people.
