Rebecca's father was named Nathaniel Green, her mother's name not known in my records. Rebecca was a pioneer in southeast Iowa, having gone there in 1850, traveling by covered wagon with her husband, James Fulton. The couple farmed in Jefferson County and raised a family of twelve children. Rebecca became a widow in 1880 and shortly thereafter went to live in Missouri with her son, John I. Fulton. She passed away at his home in Missouri, but her remains were returned to Fairfield, Iowa for burial beside her husband.
