Hugh Tague was born in the District of Holytown, Parish of Bothwell,Lanark, Scotland on November 4, 1861 to parents Thomas Tague(1825-1875) and Ann Savage Tague(1835-1897) Both of Irish decsent.
Hugh Tague's family had emigrated from Ireland to Scotland during the famine years about 1854. Hugh was one of 12 children, some died at birth and some at very young ages, only 5 living to adulthood; Mary, Thomas, John Joseph, Patrick, Michael, Bridget, Owen and James.
Hugh never married, he died March 20, 1904 in Airdrie, Scotland. Hugh was 43 years old when he died. He was laid to rest with his father Thomas Sr.. his mother Ann, his brothers Thomas, Owen, James and Michael and sister Bridget. They are all buried in the same grave in St. Joseph's Cemetery, 52 Dykeshead Rd., Airdrie, County of Lanark, Scotland.
