He was born July 4, 1913 in Buckcreek, KY to Thomas Morgan & Mary Elizabeth Sizemore Pendergrass. He had lived in Connersville and Mauzy, Indiana since 1940 and retired from McQuay-Norris Manufacturing in East Connersville. He was a member of the Blooming Grove Baptist Church and later the First Southern Baptist Church in Rushville.
Survivors include four daughters; Nancy Anderson of Cincinnati, OH, Marjorie Plummer of Straughn, IN, Delilah Rigsby of Connersville, IN, Elizabeth Sue Upchurch of Centerville, IN. one son; Thomas Morgan Pendergrass of Georgetown, KY; Eleven grandchildren; Theresa Hutchinson, James Phillips, Jeffrey Phillips, Denise DaSilveira, LaVonne Schlegel, Bobbi Plummer, Jeani Derrickson, Bradley Rigsby, Christopher Rigsby, Benedict Brunsman, Thomas M. Pendergrass III; Twenty-five great-grandchildren; a brother, Grover Cleveland Pendergrass of Olympia, WA; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of forty-one years; Gladys (Venable) Pendergrass, in 1977; a daughter, Deborah Jean Brunsman, in 1997; Five sisters; Lillian Halcomb, Cassie Reynolds, Alberta Tracey, Pearl Schmitt, Carrie Stegner; a brother, William Pendergrass.
The Funeral Service will be at 11:00 AM Friday at Todd Funeral Home, 805 Main Street, Rushville, IN. The Rev. Kenneth Bates has been asked to officiate. Burial will be in East Hill Cemetery in Rushville. Visitation will be from 4-8 Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the First Southern Baptist Church, 1159 South Airport Road, Rushville, IN 46173.
