Margaret (Kepler) LaMier was the fourth of seven children born to Benjamin and Harriett (Anthony) Kepler. She was born and raised in Farmington, Iowa, where she lived until her marriage to Joseph Paul LaMier. They married June 23, 1911, in Farmington. The newly married couple lived for a short while in Seaton, Illinois and Farmington, Iowa before making their home in Keosauqua, Iowa, where they raised three children, Leoma (1912), Alice (1918) and Joseph Jr. (1918). Margaret was widowed in 1947 and from then until her death in 1976 she lived most of her remaining years with daughter Alice. She was living with Alice in Benton, Arkansas at the time of her death, but was returned to Keosauqua, Iowa, for burial in Purdom Cemetary beside her late husband.


Margaret LaMier is the maternal grandmother of original contributor Lyle Fulton.
