"ARLENE JAMTGAARD
CRYSTAL LAKE - Arlene "Babe" Jamtgaard, 81, formerly of Crystal Lake, died Monday (Jan. 21, 2002) at the Nora Springs Care Center in Nora Springs.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday at the Crystal Lake United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Gary Marzolf officiating. Burial will be in Crystal Lake Township Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at the Ewing Funeral Chapel in Britt, and one hour prior to services on Friday at the church.

Arlene Younie Jamtgaard, the daughter of William and Mabel (Hedden) Younie, was born Dec. 21, 1920, at Hawarden. She was baptized in the Baptist Church at Hawarden. She attended school and graduated from the Hawarden school system.
Babe was united in marriage with Orval Jamtgaard on Oct. 8, 1939, in Sioux City and moved to Sioux City in December of 1939.
In February of 1946, the couple moved to Crystal Lake where Orval was a blacksmith while Babe took care of the home and family.
Following Orval's retirement, the couple wintered in Arizona. Arlene enjoyed bowling and golfing. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for many years.
She is survived by two sons, [names deleted]; two grandsons [names deleted]; one great-grandson [name deleted]; two great-granddaughters [names deleted]; five nephews and one niece.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Orval, in 2000, one brother and two sisters.
