Death of Mrs. J. W. Hannah, Jr.
The sad word reached here Wednesday morning that Mrs. J. W. Hannah, Jr., of near Odessa, MO, was dead. Mrs. Hannah had been ill for several weeks with pneumonia and had fought the dreaded disease with remarkable strength and fortitude, but its hold was too strong for her to throw off and she passed quietly away, surrounded by the members of her immediate family.
Minnie Bates Hannah was born October 17, 1876, and was the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. T. Bates of this city. She was married January 16, 1898 to J. W. Hannah, Jr., and to this union six children were born and survive---five girls and one boy. Mrs. Hannah was devoted to her husband and children. Death, while sad in every instance, is especially so where the mother leaves several small children. The mother's loving care and solicitude so essential to the welfare of her children cannot be replaced.
The Intelligencer, with the friends and relatives, extend to the bereaved husband sincerest sympathy in this our of saddest bereavement.
The funeral was held Thursday at one o'clock and burial was in the Odessa cemetery.
